Thiensville's building inspector, Paul Mortimer, is available in Village Hall every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. to assist residents with building permits.
Mortimer, who works for SAFEbuilt, is available to answer questions about requirements and to assist residents in completing the application process.
Many projects -- including replacing a water heater, installing an electrical outlet, adding a deck or a fence or replacing a roof -- require a building permit. Other projects -- such as building a shed or adding onto a home -- also require review by the village's Plan Commission.
Village staff are happy to answer questions about procedures and requirements. Just stop in Village Hall or call 262-242-3720. Mortimer also is available by phone during his officer hours.
