Purpose
At a time when municipal government had become increasingly more complex, the position of Village Administrator was created in 1984 order to provide the Village of Thiensville with a more efficient, economical, effective, coordinated, responsible, and responsive municipal government under a system of a part-time Village president and part-time trustees.
Consolidation
The Village Administrator is not a statutorily created position. It was created by the Village of Thiensville under its home rule authority. To further consolidate the municipal services and create efficiency measures, the offices of the Clerk and Treasurer were combined with the Office of Village Administrator for the Village of Thiensville.
Responsibilities
The Village Administrator carries out the directive of the Village President and
Village Board of Trustees, but also manages the day-to-day operations of the Village government. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring Village compliance with Wisconsin State Statutes, regulations, Village Resolutions and Ordinances, as well as the general oversight of all Village staff.
