Property Tax Information
Property tax bills are generally mailed out in the beginning of December of each year. The Village tax rate is determined after the approval of the budget by the Village Board in November. In addition to your municipal taxes, your bill includes taxes levied by other taxing jurisdictions.
Paying Your Property Taxes
The first installment or the full amount is due by January 31 of each year. Property tax payments can be made in person or mailed to Village Hall up until January 31. Property tax payments are also accepted in person at the Thiensville Port Washington State Bank up until January 31. BMO Bank in Thiensville is accepting tax payments through December 30. Checks should be made payable to the Village of Thiensville. You can also ay your first installment taxes online.
If the refund due is less than $100, a refund will be given at the counter at Village Hall. For refunds in excess of $100, a check will be mailed within 10 working days. Port Washington State Bank will provide refunds at the counter. BMO Bank requires payments of the exact amount.
The second installment is due by July 31 of each year. The second installment payment should be made payable to Ozaukee County Treasurer and mailed to 121 W. Main Street, P.O. Box 994, Port Washington, WI 53074-0994. Second installments may also be paid at Port Washington State Bank, 197 S. Main Street, Thiensville, WI 53092.
