Sewer

Sanitary Sewer

Sanitary sewer is separate from stormwater (rain). Sanitary sewer collects water from sinks, showers, toilets, etc.

Thiensville is one of 28 satellite communities that are served by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD).  All sanitary sewer is eventually sent to a treatment plant.  For more information, visit the MMSD website.

The Public Works Department maintains the Village Sewer System.  If your sanitary sewer starts backing up into your basement, notify the Village immediately.  Police dispatchers will answer the phones 24 hours a day and gather information while dispatching Public Works employees to determine the location of the problem.  Please call 262-242-2100.

Auto Bill Pay
Sewer is billed quarterly.  The Village is now offering auto bill payment.  A sewer bill will still be mailed to your home.  The funds will be withdrawn on the due date.  If you would like to sign up for auto bill payment, click here for the form and submit to the Village Hall.  If you would like the funds withdrawn from your checking account, include a voided check.
