Notary Services
Duties
A notary is any official appointed by Wisconsin's Secretary of State, Doug LaFollette, to serve the public as a first-hand, non-biased witness to formally document the signing of various agreements, both legal and non-legal. These official acts are called notarizations. It is the duty of the Village's notary to screen the signers of sensitive instruments to ensure their true identity and their willingness to sign under their own free will.

Being impartial is essential to being a qualified state-issued notary because, at its core, it is a foundation of our public's trust. A notary shall never refuse to serve a person due to their nationality, race, religion, politics, or sexual orientation.

Cost
The Village of Thiensville offers free notary services to Thiensville residents.  Non-residents will be charged $.50 per document.

Appointments
You do not need an appointment, but it is suggested that you call ahead to make sure the Village’s deputy clerk is available to assist you.

For more information, please contact the Clerk’s Office at 262-242-3720.
