Public hearing on proposed
pocket neighborhood


A public hearing on a proposed 16-home pocket neighborhood on the old M&I Bank site at 200 Green Bay Road will take place at 6:00 PM Monday, January 18. To allow for social distancing, the hearing will take place at The Watermark at Shully's, 146 Green Bay Road.

Residents may submit written comments until 4:30 PM on Monday, January 18 to Village Administrator Colleen Landisch-Hansen by email or by mail to Village Hall, 250 Elm Street, Thiensville, WI 53092.

Yard Waste Site Sign

Thiensville Yard Waste cards


The new annual gate cards for the Thiensville Yard Waste site are available. The cost is $15 for holders of current cards and $20 for new cards. The cards are available at Village Hall, 250 Elm St., or with several no-contact options. Details are available online. Complete the form and submit payment and proof of residence. The form also may be printed and submitted along with proof of residence by mail or in the secure drop box at the Village Hall entrance. Cards will be mailed for all no-contact options.

The Yard Waste Site, located at the Public Works facility just behind the Thiensville Post Office, is open seven days a week from sunup to sundown.

Items accepted include yard waste, brush, clippings, leaves, garden compost and used drain oil. NEW IN 2021, we will now accept clean, broken-down and flattened cardboard that does not fit in your bi-weekly collection cart.

First installment property tax payments are due Jan. 31, 2021. Make your check payable to Village of Thiensville.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of no-contact options to pay taxes:

MAIL -- Payments may be sent to Village Hall, 250 Elm St., Thiensville, WI 53092. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you would like a receipt. The receipt may be downloaded at the Ozaukee County website.

DROP BOX -- Payments may be deposited in the secure drop box next to the front door of Village Hall. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you would like a receipt.

DRIVE-THRU -- Taxes may be paid in the drive-thru lanes at BMO Harris Bank, 201 N. Main St., or Port Washington State Bank, 197 S. Main St., during bank business hours.

The Thiensville Fire Department needs your help. Please consider joining our team -- and getting involved in rewarding community work. We provide the training and equipment. You provide the dedication! After training, we ask that you commit to 18 hours of on-call time per week, which is flexible around your schedule.
