Boat Launch Construction 8-13-20

Work on boat launch
continues in Village Park

Work on the next major improvement to Village Park is underway. The project involves expanding and replacing portions of the boat launch. Plans include adding a kayak launch, a floating pier and fish habitat structures.

The project, which will be completed by the end of September, includes enhancements to the shoreline, natural landscaping and other work that will improve the quality of storm-water runoff from the parking lot. An asphalt path will be added along the boat launch and shore to encourage public access. Half of the cost is funded by a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

Buntrock Avenue water upgrade work underway

Work continues on a water main project that will improve the reliability of Mequon Water Utility service. The project, which will be completed by the end of September, will provide redundancy to water supply sources to Village of Thiensville customers in the area.

Fire hydrants will be installed every 300 feet. Roads and the Buntrock Avenue public parking lot will remain accessible.

The project is entirely funded by the City of Mequon Water Utility. Connection to the water utility within the Village is voluntary. If you are interested in city water, contact the Mequon Water Utility at (262) 236-8150 or mequonwater@ci.mequon.wi.us.
